Sustainable Cleaning
Manufacturers of cleaning products are increasingly aware of the part they need to play to enable users of cleaning products to conduct cleaning operations in a way that is ‘environmentally friendly’. But this doesn’t just mean using chemical ingredients that are safe for the environment, it means minimising all the many other environmental impacts that arise in making and using cleaning products, such as energy consumption and waste disposal. The term ‘improving sustainability’ is used to refer to making an improvement in the overall impact of cleaning.

Cleaner surfaces stay cleaner longer - the cleaner the surface the harder it is for dirt or bacteria and other organisms to adhere to the surface.
Historically the focus on achieving super clean hard surfaces has involved separate cleaning and disinfection with an associated increase in the use of biocidal disinfecting agents. Over time bacterias become resistant to biocides resulting in increased biocidal usage and environmental impact. The additional time, labour and water usage for rinsing off biocide is a major cost impact for business.
